Privacy policy
I'm Emma Elise, and I run this site through Carter's Crumble Baking Company Ltd., based in North Vancouver BC, Canada. The company decides how your data is used here. Questions go to emma@chefemmaelise.com.
what I collect and why
The start here form: Your name, email and what you tell me: who I'd cook for, where and when, diets and allergies, whether you're trying for a baby, pregnant or a new mum, and anything you write. I use it to answer you, and it reaches me by email. Some of this is about your health, so I only use it for what you sent it for. By sending the form you agree to that.
Buying something: Stripe collects your name, email, billing address and card details. I see your name, email, country and what you bought, never your full card number. I use this to deliver your order, for receipts and for my tax records. For a gift voucher, I also get the recipient's name and your message.
The custom plan questionnaire: Your answers on how you eat, your diet, allergies and goals. I use them to write your plan.
Booking a call: Cal.com collects your name, email and what you write when you book.
Emails: I only email you about what you asked for or bought, and I don't sell your data.
the legal reasons
I use your data to do what you asked me to do or to deliver what you bought (a contract), to keep tax and payment records (a legal duty), to keep the site running and safe (a legitimate interest), and to run analytics and handle health details only with your consent. You can take your consent back at any time.
who helps me
These companies handle data for me:
- Stripe takes payment for meal plans, coaching, gift vouchers and private chef invoices, and may be the seller of the feel-good plan through its service Link.
- Cal.com runs call bookings. Its payment service, Cal Pay, takes payment for food calls through Whop.
- Tally holds your custom plan questionnaire answers.
- Resend sends this site's emails, such as your form answers to me and your download link to you.
- Google runs my email, and Google Analytics if you say yes to it.
- Vercel hosts this site, and handles each visit's technical data, such as your IP address, to serve the page.
I work from Canada and several of these companies are in the United States, so your data may leave your country, with the standard legal safeguards where the law asks for them.
how long I keep it
I keep messages and form answers for as long as we're in touch about them, and questionnaire answers for as long as you're a client. Purchase records stay for as long as tax law asks. Ask me to delete yours sooner, and I'll delete what the law lets me.
your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, object to it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email me and I'll answer within a month. If you're not happy with my answer, you can complain to the privacy authority where you live: in Spain the AEPD, in Canada the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
